How Eagle Got Its Name
The name "Eagle" comes from an interesting event in 1836. A pioneer named Thomas Sugden was exploring the area with two friends. They saw a very large bald eagle flying and circling over a big hill in the middle of the prairie. This amazing sight led them to name the place Eagle.
