What's the History of Earlysville?
Earlysville gets its name from a person named John Early (1773–1833). In 1822, John Early bought almost 1,000 acres (4 km²) of land. This land makes up part of what is now the community.
Today, Earlysville has a small area with a few businesses. You can find a thrift store, a place to get cars fixed, a United States Post Office, and a shared workspace. There's also a small industrial area nearby and some newer housing developments. Most of Earlysville still feels like the countryside.
Historic Places in Earlysville
