East Canton is a small village located in Stark County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,521 people lived there. It is part of the larger Canton–Massillon metropolitan area.

History of East Canton
East Canton was first settled and known as Osnaburg. A person named Mallory Paige helped to establish the village. There is even a statue in her memory at the Ward house.
The village of Osnaburg was officially laid out around 1807 by James Leeper. Settlers hoped it would become the county seat, which is the main town for the county government. The name of the village was changed to East Canton sometime in the 1910s.

Schools and Learning
The Osnaburg Local School District, also known as East Canton Schools, serves the village. This school district has one elementary school, one middle school, and East Canton High School. All these schools are located together in one K–12 complex in East Canton.
East Canton also has a public library. It is a branch of the Stark County District Library system.
