The East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is a special part of the English countryside. It covers more than 260 square kilometers (100 square miles) in East Devon. This area is protected because of its beautiful natural scenery.
It includes 29 kilometers (18 miles) of amazing coastline. This coastline is known as the Heritage Coast. The AONB also includes 29 local areas called parishes. It touches the edges of coastal towns like Exmouth, Seaton, and Sidmouth. The whole town of Budleigh Salterton is also inside this special area.
