East Farmingdale is a community located on Long Island, in New York, United States. It is known as a hamlet and a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a recognized area for counting people, but it does not have its own local government like a city or village. East Farmingdale is part of Suffolk County and the Town of Babylon. In 2020, about 6,617 people lived here.

History of East Farmingdale
Around 2001, there was an idea to combine East Farmingdale with nearby areas. These areas included Dix Hills, Melville, and Wheatley Heights. The plan was to form a new village called the Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills.
However, these plans did not work out. Because of this, East Farmingdale and its neighbors are still unincorporated hamlets today. This means they do not have their own village governments.

East Farmingdale is located on the South Shore of Long Island. It covers an area of about 7.48 square miles (19.37 square kilometers). Almost all of this area is land, with very little water.

- To the north: Melville.
- To the northwest: Old Bethpage.
