East Kingston is a small community called a hamlet in Ulster County, New York. It is also known as a "census-designated place," which means it's a specific area that the government counts for population. In 2020, about 277 people lived here.
East Kingston is located in the southeastern part of the Town of Ulster. It is immediately north of the City of Kingston. This community is also very close to the Hudson River.

History of East Kingston
St. Colman's Church
St. Colman's Church was built in 1874. It is a beautiful church made of stone and brick. The church was designed in the Gothic style, which is a very old and grand way of building. It could seat about 250 people.
In 1892, an extra part was added to the church. Later, in 1904, St. Colman's became its own parish within the Archdiocese of New York. A parish is like a local church community. In 2015, St. Colman's joined with another church nearby, but it still holds weekly Mass services.
