East Mount Barren is a cool mountain in Western Australia. It's part of the Barren Range, which is inside the amazing Fitzgerald River National Park. This mountain is made of a strong rock called quartzite.

A famous explorer named Matthew Flinders saw and named East Mount Barren on January 6, 1802. He also named two other mountains nearby: West Mount Barren and Middle Mount Barren. He called them "Barren" because they looked quite empty and rocky.

East Mount Barren stands tall at 311 meters (about 1,020 feet) above sea level. It's a great spot for adventurers who love nature. The mountain is a key part of the beautiful landscape in the Goldfields-Esperance region.

Exploring the Mountain

If you love hiking, there's a walking track up East Mount Barren. This track climbs about 200 meters (656 feet) to the very top. From the summit, you get amazing views! You can see the coast stretching from the Doubtful Islands all the way to Mason Point. You can also see about 50 kilometers (31 miles) inland. It's a perfect place to take awesome photos.

Unique Plants and Wildlife

East Mount Barren is super special because of its unique plants. Many plant species grow only here and nowhere else in the world! Scientists call these plants "endemic."
