East Texas is a small village in Lower Macungie Township. This area is located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. It is part of a larger region called the Lehigh Valley.
The Lehigh Valley is a busy area. It had a population of about 861,899 people in 2020. This makes it one of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. A metropolitan area is a big city and all the towns and suburbs around it.
A small stream called Little Lehigh Creek forms the southern edge of the village. East Texas has its own post office. It uses the ZIP Code 18046. However, some nearby areas use different ZIP Codes. For example, parts of Allentown use 18106. And parts of Macungie use 18062.
The village got its name from the state of Texas. The word "East" was added to its name. This was done to avoid confusion. There was already another place called Texas in Pennsylvania.
