Edward Robert Kavalee (born 30 June 1979) is a well-known Australian comedian, actor, writer, and presenter on both radio and television. He is famous for his funny comments and quick wit. You might know him best as a regular guest on the TV show Have You Been Paying Attention? alongside Sam Pang.
Ed has also hosted many radio shows, like Hughesy, Ed & Erin and Marto, Ed & Robin. On TV, he has hosted shows such as TV Burp and several sports comedy shows with his friends Santo Cilauro and Sam Pang.

Ed's Career Journey
Ed Kavalee started his career in comedy by performing Theatresports. This is a type of improvised theatre where performers make up scenes on the spot. He even hosted Theatresports events at universities for several years. Before becoming famous, Ed worked at a small video store for over eight years. He also worked behind the scenes at Triple M radio, helping with promotions.
Ed studied acting at Screenwise. Just before he finished, he got a part in the comedy show Thank God You're Here. This show was special because the actors had to make up their lines as they went along. Ed appeared in more than 20 episodes of the show.
Radio Adventures
In 2006, Ed joined a popular radio comedy show called Get This on Triple M. He worked with co-host Tony Martin and panel operator Richard Marsland. The show was very successful and had many loyal fans. Even famous English comedian Ross Noble said it was his favourite radio show ever! The show ended in 2007.
After Get This, Ed worked on other radio shows. In 2008, he joined The Wrong Way Home on the Nova Network. In 2009, he became the anchor for Nova 100's Hughesy & Kate breakfast show.
In 2014, Ed joined Triple M Brisbane's The Grill Team. He also became a regular guest on the comedy quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? on Network Ten.
In 2017, Ed decided to leave the Marto, Ed & Robin show on Triple M Brisbane. He wanted to spend more time with his family, especially after his son was born. He then moved to 2Day FM to co-host Em, Grant & Ed. This show later became Ash, Grant & Ed.
From 2019, Ed filled in on the national afternoon show Hughesy & Kate. In 2021, he started co-hosting The 2Day FM Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin Molan. This show ran until August 2024.
Television Highlights
Ed has appeared in many TV shows. In 2009, he hosted TV Burp on the Seven Network. This show was based on a popular UK series and made fun of other TV shows.
He also co-hosted Santo, Sam and Ed's Cup Fever! on SBS TV in 2010. This show was a funny look at the FIFA World Cup. Later, they made a spin-off called Santo, Sam and Ed's Sports Fever! on the Seven network.
In 2011, Ed reunited with Tony Martin for The Joy of Sets on the Nine Network. This comedy show explored how TV shows are put together.
Ed has also been a regular guest on Agony Uncles on ABC-TV. Of course, he is most famous for being a regular panellist on Have You Been Paying Attention? since 2013.

Ed Kavalee has also acted in and created films. In 2012, he appeared in the Australian film Any Questions for Ben?.
He also worked on the comedy film Scumbus. Ed starred in, co-wrote, and co-produced this film. It was about two funny, under-achieving policemen. The film was made very quickly and got good reviews.
Ed also wrote, directed, and co-produced his second film, Border Protection Squad. This comedy made fun of TV shows like Border Security. It was released for downloads in 2015.

Ed Kavalee's last name, Kavalee, comes from his Thai-Chinese family background. He was raised by his mother, who was a model.
In 2014, Ed married Tiffiny Hall, who is a well-known fitness trainer and writer. They have two children together. Their son was born in September 2017, and their daughter was born in May 2022.
