Ed O'Ross, born Edward Orss on July 5, 1949, is an American actor. He has played many different characters in movies and TV shows. Some of his well-known roles include Itchy in Dick Tracy and Colonel Perry in Universal Soldier. He also appeared as Lt. Touchdown in Full Metal Jacket and Viktor Rustaveli in Red Heat. On television, he was in shows like Six Feet Under and Shark.

Edward Orss was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on July 5, 1949. His family background is from Czechoslovakia.
School and Sports
Ed O'Ross went to Munhall High School. He was a talented baseball player there and graduated in 1964. After high school, he continued his education at Point Park College and Carnegie Tech. Carnegie Tech is now known as Carnegie Mellon University.
Before Acting: Sports Career
Before he became an actor, O'Ross was involved in sports. He was a boxer and even won a Golden Gloves amateur championship in 1964. He also played minor league baseball. He tried out for two professional baseball teams, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals, but he was not chosen to play for them.

After his sports career, Ed O'Ross spent several years studying acting. He learned from famous acting teachers like Stella Adler and Uta Hagen.
