Leading in the House
From 2015 to 2017, Eddie Armstrong was the House Minority Leader. This means he was the main leader for the Democratic Party members in the Arkansas House. He worked with the Republican Majority Leader, Ken Bragg.
As Minority Leader, he helped guide his party's efforts. He worked to represent the views of the Democratic members. After his term as Minority Leader, David Whitaker took over the role.

Winning His Seat
In 2012, the District 37 seat became open. The previous representative, Kathy Webb, left the Legislature. Eddie Armstrong decided to run for the position.
He first competed in the Democratic Primary election on May 22, 2012. This was a three-way race. Armstrong won with 964 votes, which was 58.4% of the total. After winning the primary, he ran in the General election on November 6, 2012. He ran unopposed, meaning no one else was running against him. This made him the winner of the election.
