Charles L. Armstrong is an American politician. He was a member of the Democratic Party. From 2013 to 2017, he served in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represented District 30, which includes parts of Little Rock, the capital city of Arkansas.

Becoming a Representative
Winning the Election
In 2012, Charles Armstrong ran for the Arkansas House of Representatives. He was running to represent District 30. He won the Democratic Primary election. Then, he won a runoff election. Finally, he ran unopposed in the main election on November 6, 2012. This meant he was the only candidate, so he easily won the seat.
Earlier Attempts
Before 2012, Charles Armstrong ran for office a few times. In 2000, he ran for a seat in District 56. He ran in the Democratic primary but did not win. In 2006, he ran again for a seat in District 33. He also ran in the Democratic primary that year but was not successful.
Working in the Legislature
As a state representative, Charles Armstrong helped make laws for Arkansas. He worked with other politicians to serve the people of his district. In 2015, he held an important role. He was the vice-chairman of the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus. This group helps make sure the voices of African Americans are heard in the state government. State Senator Linda Chesterfield was the president of this caucus at the time.
