Eddie Perfect is a talented Australian artist. He is a singer, songwriter, pianist, comedian, writer, and actor.
Many people know him from the TV show Offspring on Channel Ten. In this show, he played Mick Holland and even performed his own songs. Eddie has also released his own music albums. He has created and performed many live shows, including Songs from the Middle with the Brodsky Quartet.
One of his most famous works is the musical comedy Shane Warne: The Musical. This show won several big awards in 2009. These include the Helpmann Award for Best New Australian Work, a Victorian Premier's Literary Award, and a Green Room Award.
Eddie Perfect also worked on Broadway in New York. He wrote songs for the musicals Beetlejuice and King Kong. After his time on Broadway, he planned to star in Dolly Parton's musical 9 to 5 in Australia. This show was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. It finally opened in 2022.

Eddie Perfect went to St Bede's College in Mentone, Victoria. He was the top student there in 1995. After high school, he studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. He finished his degree in 2001.

Eddie Perfect is known for his funny acts that sometimes make jokes about society or politics. He has appeared on many Australian TV shows. These include Kath & Kim, Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Stingers, Blue Heelers, and MDA. He also performed at The Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala.
He has released two solo albums: Welcome to the Inside of Ed's Head and Angry Eddie. The album Angry Eddie came out after he was part of a music collection called Rock Against Howard. This collection featured songs that were critical of the government at the time. The Bulletin magazine named him one of Australia's top 100 brightest entertainers.
Early Stage Performances
In 2007, Eddie Perfect was in Keating! the Musical. He played several characters, including a funny version of Alexander Downer, who was a former Australian government minister.
In 2008, Eddie wrote Shane Warne: The Musical. This musical was a funny look at the life of the famous Australian cricketer Shane Warne. The show was first tested in 2007 and then had more practice shows in 2008. Shane Warne The Musical officially opened in Melbourne in December 2008. It then went on a tour around Australia.
In 2009, the musical won important awards. These included the Helpmann Award for Best New Australian Work and a Green Room Award. The show was updated with new parts of Shane Warne's life and came back to Melbourne in 2013. Eddie Perfect played Shane Warne himself. Other stars like Lisa McCune and Shane Jacobson were also in the show. A recording of the cast singing the songs was released in 2014.
In 2010, Eddie performed Songs from the Middle. This show was a collection of songs inspired by his childhood in Mentone, Victoria. A reviewer from The Australian newspaper said the show was a touching story about an adult coming to terms with his past.
He also played the main character, Mack the Knife, in The Threepenny Opera in Melbourne in 2010. He played this role again in Sydney in 2011. Eddie also hosted and directed FOX8's Ultimate School Musical. Later that year, he started playing Mick Holland in the TV show Offspring. He also presented an award at the 2010 ARIA Music Awards.
His solo show Misanthropology started in January 2011 as part of the Sydney Festival. In this show, Eddie used humor and music to look at different parts of human behavior. He wanted to help people laugh and think about how we act.
Working on Broadway
In 2015, Eddie Perfect moved to New York City. He wanted to work on Broadway, which is famous for its musicals. There, he met an agent who also worked with his friend, Australian songwriter Tim Minchin.
Since moving to New York, Eddie has written songs for two Broadway musicals. These shows opened in 2018 and 2019. He wrote for King Kong, which opened in October 2018. He also wrote for Beetlejuice, which opened in April 2019.
Returning to the Stage
After his success in New York, Eddie Perfect planned to return to Australia. He was going to star in the Australian premiere of Dolly Parton's musical, 9 to 5. He was cast in the main role of Franklin Hart Jr. The show was supposed to start in Sydney in April 2020. However, because of the global coronavirus pandemic, the show was delayed. It finally opened in Sydney in February 2022. The show also played in Brisbane and Melbourne later that year.
In May 2025, Eddie Perfect is set to play the main character in the Australian premiere of Beetlejuice the Musical.
Other Activities
In November 2011, Eddie Perfect hosted the Inside Film Awards at Luna Park in Sydney.
In October 2015, it was announced that Eddie would be a new judge on the TV show Australia's Got Talent for its eighth season.
In December 2019, Eddie wrote a song for a new Tourism Australia advertisement. This ad was made to attract British visitors to Australia. It was first shown just before the Queen's yearly Christmas message.
In 2020, Eddie Perfect took part in The Masked Singer Australia. He was the "Frillneck" character and finished in third place on the show's second season.
Personal Life
As of 2010, Eddie Perfect is married to Lucy Cochran. Lucy is the sister of composer and pianist Julian Cochran. Eddie and Lucy have two daughters.
