Edgardo Norberto Andrada (born January 2, 1939 – died September 4, 2019) was an Argentine football player. He was a goalkeeper, which means he defended the goal. He played for several important clubs in Argentina and Brazil.

Football Career
Edgardo Andrada was born in Rosario, a city in Argentina. When he was young, he first tried to play basketball. Later, at 19 years old, he tried out as a goalkeeper for a club called San Lorenzo, but it didn't work out.
Starting Professional Football
In 1960, he joined Rosario Central, a club in his hometown. This is where he started his professional football career. He played for Rosario Central until 1969. During his time there, he played 283 matches.
Playing in Brazil
In 1969, Edgardo Andrada moved to Brazil. He joined a famous Brazilian club called Vasco. He played for Vasco until 1975.
Pelé's 1000th Goal
While playing for Vasco, Edgardo Andrada was part of a very famous moment in football history. On November 19, 1969, at the Maracanã Stadium, he was the goalkeeper when the legendary player Pelé scored his 1000th career goal. Pelé scored this goal from a penalty kick.
Winning Championships
With Vasco, Andrada helped his team win important titles. In 1970, they won the Campeonato Carioca, which is a state championship in Brazil. In 1971, he received the Placar's Campeonato Brasileiro Série A Bola de Prata award. This award is given to one of the best players in the Brazilian league. In 1974, he also won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A with Vasco, which is the top national league in Brazil.
Return to Argentina
In 1976, Andrada played for a Brazilian club called Vitória. The next year, in 1977, he returned to Argentina. He played 122 matches for Colón between 1977 and 1982. In 1982, he played 16 matches for Renato Cesarini. After that, he retired from playing football.
National Team Career
Edgardo Andrada also played for his country, Argentina. He was the goalkeeper for the Argentine national team in 1963. This was during the 1963 South American Championship, which was held in Bolivia.
