Edgerton's Story
A Look Back in Time
The area around Edgerton was first organized as St. Joseph Township. This happened a long time ago, on December 2, 1832.
Edgerton itself was planned out in 1854. The village got its name from Alfred Peck Edgerton. He was a land agent and also served in the U.S. Congress. A post office was set up in Edgerton in the same year, 1854. The village officially became a town on December 4, 1865.
