Edmilson dos Santos Silva, known simply as Edmilson, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He was born on September 15, 1982. Edmilson played as a forward, which means he was mainly responsible for scoring goals.

Edmilson's Football Journey
Edmilson started his football career playing for a team called Palmeiras in Brazil. This was where he began to show his skills as a young player.
Playing in Japan
In January 2004, Edmilson moved to Japan. He joined a team called Albirex Niigata in the J1 League. He first played for them on a short loan. After that, he signed a permanent deal to stay with the club.
Edmilson played for Albirex Niigata for four seasons. He was a regular player and scored an impressive 62 goals in the league during his time there.
Moving to Urawa Reds
In January 2008, Edmilson joined another big team in the J1 League, Urawa Red Diamonds. He continued to be a very successful player with Urawa. In his first year, he scored 11 goals in 31 games.
He had a fantastic 2009 season. Edmilson scored 17 goals, making him the second-highest scorer in the entire league that year. He was a key player for Urawa Reds.
Playing in Qatar and Back to Brazil
On June 29, 2011, Edmilson left Japan. He moved to Qatar to play for the club Al-Gharafa. After his time in Qatar, he returned to Brazil. He played for several Brazilian clubs, including Vasco da Gama and Red Bull Brasil. In 2015, he also had a short time with Chapecoense.
