Education
Edoardo Ponti went to Aiglon College in Switzerland and finished school in 1990. Later, in 1994, he graduated with high honors from the University of Southern California. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. In 1998, he got his Master's degree in Film Directing & Production from the same university's film school.

First Feature Film
His first full-length movie was called Between Strangers. He wrote and directed this film himself. It featured a great cast, including his mother, Sophia Loren, along with Mira Sorvino and Gérard Depardieu. The movie was shown at big film festivals in Venice and Toronto. It also won five nominations for the Genie Awards, which are like the Academy Awards in Canada. Edoardo won an award for best first-time filmmaker at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Other Film Projects
In 2011, Edoardo wrote and directed a romantic comedy called Coming & Going. He also made a short film for W Hotels called Away we Stay. In 2012, he directed his first Italian-language film, Il Turno di Notte lo fanno le stelle. He even acted in a movie that year, playing the main character, Pinkerton, in Madam Butterfly.
In 2014, he directed Voce umana (which means Human Voice). This was a short film based on a play, and it starred his mother, Sophia Loren.

Before directing many films, Edoardo also acted. He had a main role in the film Aurora. For this role, he was nominated for the "Nastro d’Argento," a big film award in Italy.
