Edon is a small village located in Williams County, Ohio, United States. It's a friendly community in the northwestern part of the state. In 2020, the village had a population of 796 people.

History of Edon
Edon was officially created in 1867. This was the same year that a post office started operating in the village. This made it easier for people to send and receive mail.
Geography of Edon
Edon is found in the northwest corner of Ohio. It is about two miles east of the Indiana state line. The village is located where Ohio Routes 34 and 49 meet.
The United States Census Bureau says that Edon covers a total area of about 1.12 square miles (2.84 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.

According to the census from 2010, there were 834 people living in Edon. These people lived in 339 different homes. The village had about 744.6 people per square mile.
Most of the people in Edon were White (98.0%). A small number of people were from other racial backgrounds. About 0.8% of the population was Hispanic or Latino.
About 31.6% of the homes had children under 18 living there. The average age of people in the village was 37.8 years old. About 25.5% of residents were under 18. The population was almost evenly split between males (48.1%) and females (51.9%).
Education in Edon
Edon High School is the main public high school in the village. It is the only high school in the Edon Northwest Local Schools district. The school's sports teams are called the Bombers. They compete in the Buckeye Border Conference. For football, they also play in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.
Famous People from Edon High School
Edon High School has had some notable alumni. One is Mel Held, who played professional baseball as a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles in 1956.
Another famous alumnus is Dave Herman. He played college football at Michigan State University from 1960 to 1964. After college, Herman played professional football for the New York Jets from 1964 to 1973. He was a very good player, earning "all-pro" honors twice. He was the starting offensive right tackle when the Jets won Super Bowl III with a score of 16–7 against the Baltimore Colts.
Edon also has a public library. It is a branch of the Williams County Public Library, where you can borrow books and learn new things.
