The Story of Eggleston's Past

Eggleston got its name from two early settlers: John E. Eggleston and Joseph Eggleston. They made their homes in this area when it was part of what was then called Burnside Township.

For many years, Eggleston was an important place. From 1875 to 1934, the community had its own post office, which helped people send and receive mail.

Railroad Connection

Eggleston was also a stop on the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. This railroad connected major cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, and St Paul. Having a train station meant that goods and people could easily travel to and from Eggleston, helping the community grow.
