Ehrwald is a lovely village located in the Reutte area of Austria. It's part of the Tyrol state, which is famous for its amazing mountains. Ehrwald is a "municipality," which means it's a local area with its own government and services, like a small town.

Where is Ehrwald Located?

Ehrwald is nestled right at the southern base of the Zugspitze mountain. This mountain is super tall, reaching 2,950 meters (about 9,678 feet) above sea level! The Zugspitze is special because it's the highest mountain in Germany, but it's shared with Austria.

You can easily get to the top of the Zugspitze from Ehrwald. There's a special cable car called the Tyrolean Aerial Tramway that takes visitors up the mountain. It offers incredible views of the surrounding Alps.
