Why Was It Built?

This cool replica tower was built in 1993. Guess what? Another city in the United States, Paris, Tennessee, built its own Eiffel Tower that same year! To make sure their tower stood out, the people in Paris, Texas, had a fun idea. They decided to build their tower five feet taller than the one in Tennessee. To make it even more unique, they added a shiny cowboy hat to the very top! This made the Texas tower a total of 65 feet tall. It was all part of a friendly competition!

How Was It Made?

Local welders worked together to build this special tower. It's a lot smaller than the huge 1,063-foot original in France. The Texas tower is less than one-tenth its height.

Fun Features of the Tower

In 1998, a bright red cowboy hat was placed on top of the tower's spire. It's a fun and unique touch! The tower also has 27 bright LED lights. These lights can change colors for different seasons. For example, they glow red and green during Christmas. They are also used for exciting announcements! Expecting parents can light up the tower pink for a baby girl or blue for a baby boy. It's a really cool way to share happy news with the whole town!
