Exploring El Pinar: What to See
El Pinar is a quiet place with natural beauty. It offers a glimpse into the island's history and landscape.
Punta Orchilla Lighthouse: A Guiding Light
On the western side of El Pinar, you will find the Punta Orchilla Lighthouse. This lighthouse was finished in 1933. It stands tall and helps guide ships safely. For a long time, before 1884, this point was considered the "zero meridian" by many mapmakers. This meant it was the starting line for measuring longitude around the world. It was like the center of the world for maps!
