El Turbón is a mountain in the Pre-Pyrenees mountain range. It is located in the Province of Huesca in Aragon, Spain. This mountain is about 6.3 km (4 mi) long. It stretches from north to south.

El Turbón is known as a "massif." This means it is a group of mountains that form a single large mass. It is fairly easy to climb this mountain. However, it is best to avoid climbing in summer. The bare rock can get very hot during those months.

What is El Turbón Made Of?

El Turbón has a huge rocky center. This center is made of limestone and a type of rock called marl. These rocks formed during the Cretaceous period. That was a very long time ago!

You can find caves and shafts inside the mountain. The Isábena River flows along the eastern side of El Turbón. This river separates El Turbón from the nearby Mountains of Sis range.

Exploring El Turbón

El Turbón offers great views and a chance to explore nature. The easiest way to climb it is from a place called the Merendero de la Muria. This spot is found between the towns of Pont de Suert and Castejón de Sos.

Remember to check the weather before you go. Staying safe is always the most important thing when exploring mountains.
