Kendall Bridge

One special place is the Kendall Bridge. This bridge is unique because a road turns off the suspended part of the bridge. This creates a rare "suspended intersection." The bridge goes over the Allegheny River, a small road, and a railroad line. The railroad is owned by the Western New York & Pennsylvania Rail Road.

World War II Museum

Eldred is also home to the World War II Museum. During World War II, Eldred had a factory that made bombs and other military items. This factory worked day and night from 1942 to 1945. It made eight million bombs and shells for the war effort. About 1,500 people worked there.

The museum opened in 1996. It honors the U.S. soldiers who fought in the war. It also remembers the millions of people at home who helped make the supplies needed to win the war.

Fire Truck Museum

A large collection of old fire trucks is moving to Eldred. This is the Andy Leider Fire Truck Collection. They bought an old property in Eldred to make a much bigger museum.

This new museum will be the largest vintage motorized fire truck museum in the country. It will also be a place to fix and store old fire trucks. The owners are excited to open this new facility in McKean County, Pennsylvania.
