Elefun facts for kids
Elefun is a fun children's game made by Hasbro. In this game, players use a net to catch colorful paper butterflies. These butterflies fly out of a long trunk of a plastic elephant. A motor inside the elephant makes the butterflies float into the air. Elefun first came out in 1993.
Over the years, Elefun became part of a group of games called "Elefun and Friends." This group included other popular games like Hungry Hungry Hippos, Mouse Trap, Chasing Cheeky, and Gator Golf. In 2008, a special movie called Elefun and Friends: A Tangled Tale was released directly to video.
Playskool, another company owned by Hasbro, also created a spin-off game in 2011 called "Elefun Busy Ball Popper." In 2012, a special golden butterfly was added to the Elefun game. There's even a girl elephant version of the game called Belefun.
How to Play Elefun
Elefun was created by Omri Rothschild and Boaz Coster in 1993. It's usually played by 2 to 4 people and a game takes about 10 minutes. The game is best for young children, often between 3 and 6 years old.
The main part of the game is a motorized elephant. This elephant blows soft nylon butterflies into the air. All the players try to catch these butterflies using their nets. Players can also pick up butterflies that land on the ground.
Winning the Game
After the elephant stops blowing butterflies, players count how many they caught. The player who collects the most butterflies gets a special butterfly token for their net. There's also a special blue butterfly; if you catch it, you win a token too! The first player to collect three butterfly tokens wins the entire game.
Other Versions of Elefun
There are a few different versions of the Elefun game. One is called "Musical Freddy and His Flying Fish." It's very similar to Elefun, but instead of an elephant blowing butterflies, there's a big fish that blows out smaller fish. There is also a version of the game that features characters from Winnie the Pooh.
