Elena Hrenova (Russian: Елена Хренова) was a politician from Moldova. She was born on January 14, 1950, and passed away on November 22, 2020. Elena Hrenova served as a member of the Moldovan Parliament from 2014 to 2019. She represented the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova. Before that, she was a councilor in the Chișinău Municipal Council from 2011 to 2015.

Elena Hrenova was born in Kamyshlov, which is in Russia. She later became a politician in Moldova. Her work in parliament focused on social protection, health, and families.
Her Time in Politics
In the 2014 parliamentary elections, Elena Hrenova ran to become a deputy. A deputy is like a representative who helps make laws for the country. She was elected and became a member of the Moldovan Parliament.
Before joining the Party of Socialists, she was part of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova. In 2012, she decided to leave the Communist Party. She then joined the Party of Socialists in the city council.
She later resigned from her role as a city councilor in 2015. This was because she could not hold both positions at the same time. This is called "incompatibility of positions."
Other Work and Language
Elena Hrenova also started and led a public group called "Equitate." This group worked to help people in the community.
It is noted that Elena Hrenova spoke only Russian in parliament. She did not know Romanian, which is another official language in Moldova.
Her Passing
Sadly, Elena Hrenova passed away on November 22, 2020. She died from COVID-19.
