Elevenmile Creek is located southwest of a place called Entrance Point. It is also about 8.6 miles (13.8 km) west of the main city of Juneau.
How Elevenmile Creek Got Its Name
The name "Elevenmile Creek" comes from its location. It flows between the ten-mile and eleven-mile markers on the North Douglas Highway. The United States Geological Survey gave the creek this name in 1962. It was officially added to the Geographic Names Information System on March 31, 1981.
