Elfin Cove is a small community located in Alaska, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. In the Tlingit language, the name for Elfin Cove is X̱’óot’k’.

This tiny place is found near the northwestern part of Chichagof Island in the Hoonah-Angoon Census Area. In 2010, only 20 people lived there, which was a decrease from 32 people in 2000. By 2020, the population had grown slightly to 24 people.

Where is Elfin Cove?

Elfin Cove is located right off Cross Sound on Chichagof Island. You can find it at these coordinates: 58 degrees, 11 minutes, 56 seconds North and 136 degrees, 21 minutes, 19 seconds West.

The community itself is on the northern tip of the Inian Peninsula. The main part of Elfin Cove, including its harbor, is on the western side of this peninsula.

The total area of the CDP is about 26.9 square kilometers (10.4 square miles). Most of this area, about 26.4 square kilometers (10.2 square miles), is land. The rest, about 0.5 square kilometers (0.2 square miles), is water.
