Elham Aminzadeh (Persian: الهام امین‌زاده) was born in 1964. She is an Iranian academic and politician. She used to be a special assistant to the President of Iran for citizenship rights. She also served as the Vice President for legal affairs.

Early Life and Education

Elham Aminzadeh was born in 1964 in Shiraz, Iran. She studied law and earned her PhD from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 1997. Her PhD research focused on how the United Nations helps keep peace and security around the world.

Her Career in Politics and Law

Aminzadeh has had an important career in both academics and government.

Teaching Law

She worked as a law professor at the University of Tehran. Her special areas of study included international public law, energy law, and human rights. She also taught at other universities, such as the School of International Relations, Allameh Tabatabaei University, and Imam Sadegh University.

Serving in Parliament

From 2004 to 2008, Elham Aminzadeh was a member of the Majlis. The Majlis is like Iran's Parliament, where laws are made. During her time there, she was also a leader in the Majlis's committee. This committee dealt with important topics like national security and foreign policy.

Working for the President

In 2013, President Hassan Rouhani chose her to be the Vice President for legal affairs. This appointment was part of his promise to support women's involvement in Iranian society.
