Elina Born (born June 29, 1994) is a talented singer from Estonia. She became well-known for representing Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. She performed the song "Goodbye to Yesterday" with Stig Rästa. Elina also tried to represent Estonia in Eurovision in 2013 and 2017. Before her Eurovision fame, she was the runner-up in the fifth season of Eesti otsib superstaari, a popular Estonian singing competition.

Biography
Early life
Elina Born was born on June 29, 1994, in Lehtse, Estonia. Her musical journey began in a unique way. The famous Estonian musician Stig Rästa discovered Elina online. He found a video of her singing "Cruz" by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. Stig was very impressed by her voice and musical talent.
After seeing her video, Stig sent Elina a message on Facebook. Elina was still in school at the time. She later shared that she was so surprised and happy that she cried! It took her a few days to gather her courage to write back to him. This was the start of her exciting music career.
Career
Singing competitions and early songs
In 2012, Elina Born took part in Eesti otsib superstaari. This TV show is like "Idol" in other countries. It searches for the best new singer in Estonia. Elina did very well in the competition. She passed the auditions and made it through many rounds. She reached the very end, the Super Final, but she finished as the runner-up. The winner that year was Rasmus Rändvee.
After the competition, Elina continued to work on her music. In 2013, she entered Eesti Laul 2013. This is the Estonian competition to choose a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her first single, "Enough," was written by Stig Rästa and Fred Krieger. She made it to the final round of Eesti Laul and finished in 8th place.
Eurovision Song Contest and beyond
Elina Born tried again for Eurovision in 2015. This time, she teamed up with Stig Rästa. They entered Eesti Laul 2015 with their song "Goodbye to Yesterday". The Estonian TV channel Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) organized the event.
Elina and Stig performed in Semi-final 2 on February 14, 2015. They did so well that they moved on to the Final. The Final was held on February 21, 2015. Their song was chosen to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. At Eurovision, Elina and Stig finished in 7th place. They earned a total of 106 points.
Two years later, in 2017, Elina returned to Eesti Laul. Her song was "In or Out," written by Stig Rästa, Vallo Kikas, and Fred Krieger. She reached the final again, finishing in 10th place.
