Eliran Atar (born February 17, 1987) is a professional football player from Israel. He plays as a forward, which means he is usually trying to score goals for his team. Eliran Atar has played for several top clubs in Israel, like Bnei Yehuda, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Haifa. He also played for a team in France called Stade de Reims.

Eliran Atar was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. His family has roots in Moroccan Jewish culture.
Playing for Clubs
Bnei Yehuda
Eliran Atar played for Bnei Yehuda early in his career. On February 7, 2009, he scored an amazing goal using an overhead kick. This goal was so special that it was considered for the 2009 Puskás Award, which celebrates the most beautiful goals scored each year. He finished fourth in the voting. During the 2008–09 Israeli Premier League season, he was the top scorer with 14 goals.
Maccabi Tel Aviv
On May 7, 2010, Atar signed a four-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He moved for about $1.2 million.
On August 26, 2010, he was named Player of the Match. He scored two great goals in a 4–3 win against PSG in the Europa League. In his first season with Maccabi, he was the team's top scorer. He scored 18 goals in the league and 22 goals in all competitions. His great playing caught the eye of big European clubs.
Reims
On June 24, Eliran Atar moved to France. He signed a four-year deal with Stade de Reims, a team in Ligue 1, which is France's top football league.
Maccabi Haifa
On January 15, 2015, Atar returned to Israel. He signed a contract with Maccabi Haifa, another team in the Israeli Premier League.
Return to Maccabi Tel Aviv
After playing for Maccabi Haifa, Eliran Atar returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2017. He continued to be a key player for the team.
Beitar Jerusalem and Bnei Yehuda Again
Later in his career, Atar played for Beitar Jerusalem. In 2021, he made another return to his first club, Bnei Yehuda, where he continues to play today.
Playing for Israel
Eliran Atar was first called to play for the Israel national team on August 28, 2010. This was for important games to qualify for UEFA Euro 2012. However, he had to leave the team because of an eye injury.
In October 2012, he was called up again for 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. But he got a back injury and could not play. Atar finally made his first appearance for Israel on November 14, 2012. It was in a friendly game against Belarus.
Almost exactly four years later, on November 12, 2016, Atar scored his first goal for Israel. This was in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Albania. Israel won that game 3–0.
