Elk Forest is a small residential community located in Kanawha County, West Virginia, United States. It's found along Elk Forest Road, which connects to U.S. Route 119.

This community was mostly built in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It is considered part of a larger area called Mink Shoals.

The land where Elk Forest now stands was originally owned by Amanda Pitzer. She arranged for the area to be developed into homes. Her burial place is in a small cemetery near Elk Forest, across the road from Ventura Acres Road.
