Ellen Lohr (born on April 12, 1965, in Mönchengladbach, Germany) is a famous German race car driver. She is currently racing in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. She drives the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro car for the Dexwet-df1 Racing team.
Ellen Lohr is known as one of Germany's most successful female drivers. She made history on May 24, 1992. She won a race in the DTM (German Touring Car Masters) series. She was driving a Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo2 at the Hockenheimring track. Ellen Lohr is still the only female driver to have ever won a DTM race.

Ellen Lohr's Racing Journey
Early Career and DTM Success
Ellen Lohr started her racing career and quickly became a strong competitor. Her big win in the DTM series in 1992 was a major highlight. The DTM is a popular touring car racing series in Germany. Winning this race showed her amazing skill and determination.
Moving to New Races
After the DTM series ended in 1996, Ellen Lohr explored other types of racing. She started competing in truck racing. She also raced in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge (DTC). This was another German touring car racing series.
From 2004, Ellen Lohr took on even bigger challenges. She competed in the Dakar Rally. This is a very tough off-road race. She also joined other similar events. Sometimes, she worked as a television commentator for DTM races. This meant she explained the races to viewers.
Rally Racing and Return to the Track
In 2008, Ellen Lohr tried rally racing. She competed in the German Rally Championship. Her navigator, Antonia Roissard de Bellet, helped her. They also took part in the 2008 Central Europe Rally. This rally was part of the Dakar Series.
Ellen Lohr took a break from full-time racing in 2016. In 2017, she worked for the Venturi race team in Formula E. She helped with their marketing. But she missed racing! In 2019, she returned to full-time competition. She joined Dexwet-df1 Racing to race in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. She had watched the 2018 season finale and really wanted to race in the series herself.
