Elliston is a small community in Powell County, Montana, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a place that the government counts as a community for statistics, even if it doesn't have its own official city government.
In 2020, about 227 people lived in Elliston. The town was likely named after John W. Ellis, who was a director for the Northern Pacific Railroad. By the mid-1880s, Elliston became a busy place because of gold and quartz mining.
