Elze is a small town in Germany. It's located in the district of Hildesheim, in a state called Lower Saxony. The town sits right next to the Leine River. It's about 15 kilometers (or 9.3 miles) west of the city of Hildesheim.
Elze is one of the oldest towns in this region. Its name comes from a Latin phrase, aula caesaris, which means "Caesar's hall" or "Caesar's court."
