Emelie Öhrstig, born on February 27, 1978, in Borås, Sweden, is a talented Swedish athlete. She is known for her skills in both cross-country skiing and road racing cycling.
In cross-country skiing, Emelie achieved a big win at the 2005 Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. She earned a gold medal in the individual sprint race. She also had eleven other victories in races up to 15 kilometers between 2002 and 2005. Her best result at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin was finishing 22nd in the individual sprint.

Life After Skiing
In April 2006, Emelie Öhrstig decided to retire from professional skiing. She was then listed as retired on the website for the International Ski Federation.
Becoming a Commentator
After her successful skiing career, Emelie became an expert commentator for television. She shared her knowledge of skiing with viewers. She worked for Sveriges Television from 2009.
In 2014, she joined Viasat and worked as an expert commentator for the 2014 Winter Olympics. She helped explain the races to the audience.
Working at Volvo Cars
Since August 2014, Öhrstig has been working at Volvo Cars. As of 2017, she was a director focusing on customer experience and retail for the Swedish market. This means she helped make sure customers had a great experience buying and owning Volvo cars in Sweden.

World Championship Gold
Her biggest achievement was winning a gold medal at the 2005 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. This was in the individual sprint event, which is a fast-paced race.

Emelie competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Her best individual finish there was 22nd place in the sprint race. She also participated in the 10-kilometer classical race.
