Emily Jenkins (born September 13, 1967) is an American writer. She writes books for kids and teens, and also for adults. Sometimes, she uses the pen name E. Lockhart for her young adult novels.
Emily Jenkins is famous for her books like the Ruby Oliver series, which starts with The Boyfriend List. She also wrote The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks and We Were Liars.

About Emily Jenkins
Emily Jenkins grew up in different places, including Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Seattle, Washington. When she was in high school, she loved drama and went to summer theater programs.
She went to Vassar College and later to Columbia University. There, she earned a special degree in English literature. This helped her become the amazing writer she is today!
Writing for Young Adults
Emily Jenkins writes many popular books for teens under the name E. Lockhart. The name "Lockhart" comes from her grandmother's family.
Her first book as E. Lockhart was The Boyfriend List, published in 2005. This book is part of a series called the Ruby Oliver novels. The series follows the main character, Ruby Oliver, through her adventures. The other books in this series are The Boy Book (2006), The Treasure Map of Boys (2009), and Real Live Boyfriends (2010).
Another well-known book for teens is The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks (2008). This book was a finalist for two big awards: the National Book Award for Young People's Literature and the Michael L. Printz Award.
Her book We Were Liars was also very popular. It was chosen as one of the top four books for the 2014 Guardian Children's Fiction Prize in the UK.

Under her real name, Emily Jenkins, she writes many wonderful children's books and picture books. She often works with talented illustrators to bring her stories to life.
