Emma Rigby (born 26 September 1989) is an English actress and model. She is best known for playing Hannah Ashworth in the popular TV show Hollyoaks. She also played the Red Queen in the American fantasy show Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Gemma Roscoe in the BBC drama Prisoners' Wives.

Early Life and First Roles
Emma Rigby was born in St Helens, a town in Merseyside, England. She started acting professionally when she was just 14 years old.
Her first television appearance was in the BBC drama Born and Bred in 2003. In the same year, she also appeared in a few episodes of the TV show Brookside.
Acting Career
Emma's career took off with roles in television, film, and on stage. She is most famous for her work in the TV show Hollyoaks.
Hollyoaks Fame
In 2005, when she was 15, Emma was cast as Hannah Ashworth in the TV series Hollyoaks. Her character went through a very serious storyline about the eating disorder anorexia. Her acting in this story was so powerful that she won several awards. This included the British Soap Award for Best Actress in 2008.
She originally planned to leave the show in 2009 but decided to stay for another six months. Her last episode at that time was in February 2010. In 2024, Emma returned to Hollyoaks to play Hannah Ashworth again.
Roles in TV and Film
After Hollyoaks, Emma starred in many other projects. In 2011, she was in the horror movie Demons Never Die and an episode of the comedy Fresh Meat.
The next year, she played Gemma in the drama series Prisoners' Wives. Her character was a young woman whose husband is arrested. In 2013, she appeared in the American fantasy series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as the famous Red Queen.

In 2010, Emma performed in a stage musical in London called Wolfboy. She played a nurse in a non-singing role and received good reviews from critics.
In 2018, she acted in a famous play by Agatha Christie called Witness for the Prosecution. She played the main female character, Romaine Vole.
Besides acting, Emma has also worked as a model.
Charity Work
Emma Rigby is an ambassador for CAFOD, which is the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. This charity helps people in need around the world. She is also an ambassador for the Douai Foundation.
