English Gardner (born April 22, 1992) is an American track and field athlete. She is a very fast sprinter who runs in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash races. English is known for her amazing speed, with a personal best time of 10.74 seconds in the 100 meters. This fast time was set in 2016.

Early Life and College Running
English Gardner was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. She finished high school at Eastern Regional High School in 2010. After high school, English went to the University of Oregon. She became a star runner for the Oregon Ducks track and field team.
College Achievements
While at the University of Oregon, English won many important races. She was a five-time NCAA champion. This means she won five national college titles.

She also competed in the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing, China. There, she earned another silver medal in the 4 × 100-meter relay.

English Gardner had a fantastic year in 2016. She won the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Her time of 10.74 seconds was one of the fastest ever recorded by a woman. This win qualified her for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics:
- She finished 7th in the individual 100-meter race.
- She won a gold medal as part of the U.S. team in the 4 × 100-meter relay. The team ran an incredible time of 41.01 seconds.
English also competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, which took place in 2021. She won a silver medal with the U.S. team in the 4 × 100-meter relay.

In 2025, English Gardner started hosting a show called The Athlete's Lounge on FloTrack. She provides live commentary for the Diamond League season. She also joined the Princeton University men's track & field coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in November 2018. She helped the Princeton men's team win several Ivy League championships.
