Who Was Enoch?
Enoch lived a long, long time ago, even before the Great Flood mentioned in the Bible. He was part of a family line that stretched from Adam (the first man) down to Noah, who built the ark. Enoch is known for his strong faith and his special connection with God.
Enoch's Life and Legacy
The Bible tells us that Enoch lived for 365 years. But instead of dying like everyone else, the Bible says "God took him" (Genesis 5:24). This is very unique! It means Enoch did not experience death in the usual way. Many people believe God took him directly to heaven because of his strong faith and how closely he walked with God.
The Book of Enoch
Besides the short mention in the Bible, there are other ancient writings about Enoch. One of the most famous is called the Book of Enoch. This book is not part of the official Bible for most Christian and Jewish groups, but it is an old and interesting text. It tells more stories about Enoch, his visions, and messages from God. It was important to many ancient people and is still studied today.
