Enílton's Football Journey
Early Career and Club Moves
Enílton started his professional football career in Brazil. In 2002, a Mexican team called Tigres UANL signed him. They paid about US$1 million to get him from his previous club, Coritiba.
However, Enílton decided to leave Tigres early to return to Brazil. He joined Atlético Mineiro in May 2003. But he was then transferred to Esporte Clube Vitória in July 2003. Tigres was not happy about Enílton leaving his contract. They took the case to FIFA, which is the international governing body of football. Later, the Court of Arbitration for Sport also looked at the case. The court decided that Enílton had to pay Tigres US$750,000. Atlético Mineiro was also found partly responsible for the contract issue.
Playing for Palmeiras and Loan Spells
In December 2005, Enílton signed a three-year contract with Palmeiras, a well-known Brazilian club. From 2007 to 2009, while still with Palmeiras, he was loaned out to other teams. This means he played for different clubs temporarily.
He played for Omiya Ardija in Japan in 2007. He also played for Vasco and Sport Recife in Brazil. In February 2008, his contract with Palmeiras was extended until the end of 2009. He spent the first half of 2009 playing for Paulista FC.
Later Career and Retirement
After his time with Palmeiras, Enílton continued to play for various clubs. In January 2010, he joined Paysandu. Then, in March of the same year, he moved to Brasiliense. He stayed with Brasiliense until May 2011.
In January 2012, Enílton signed with Bangu to play in the Rio de Janeiro state league. Shortly after, in February 2012, he joined Comercial de Ribeirão Preto. He retired from professional football after his time with Comercial.
