Eric Gérard Carrière (born May 24, 1973) is a former French professional football player. He was a talented midfielder who played for several famous clubs. These included Nantes, Lyon, Lens, and Dijon. He also played for the French national team.

Eric Carrière's Club Career
Eric Carrière started his professional football journey at FC Nantes. With Nantes, he won his first major title, the Ligue 1 championship, in the 2000–01 season. Ligue 1 is the top football league in France.
In 2001, he moved to Olympique Lyonnais, often called Lyon. This move was very successful for him. At Lyon, he won three more Ligue 1 titles in a row. These victories happened in 2002, 2003, and 2004.
After his time at Lyon, Carrière joined RC Lens in 2004. He played there for several seasons. Later, when Lens was moved down to a lower league, he signed a two-year contract with Dijon FCO on June 26, 2008.
Eric Carrière's International Career
Eric Carrière also played for his country, the French national team. He played in ten international matches and scored five goals for France.
His first game for the national team was on March 30, 2001. France won that match 5–0 against South Korea. This game took place at Daegu Stadium during the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. The Confederations Cup was a big international football tournament.

Eric Carrière was known as a very skilled playmaker on the field. A playmaker is a player who helps create scoring chances for their team. He was very good at taking free-kicks, penalties, and corners. These are special kicks used to restart the game.
