Eric Nickulas (born March 25, 1975) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He played as a right winger. He was part of the National Hockey League (NHL) for teams like the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, and Chicago Blackhawks between 1999 and 2006.
About Eric Nickulas
Eric Nickulas was born in Hyannis, Massachusetts, in the United States. When he was young, he loved playing hockey. He even played in a famous youth hockey tournament called the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in 1989. This tournament is a big deal for young hockey players from all over the world!
Becoming a Pro Hockey Player
Eric was chosen by the Boston Bruins in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. The NHL Entry Draft is where professional hockey teams pick young players they want to join their teams. He was the 99th player picked that year!
For a few years, Eric mostly played for the Providence Bruins. This team is part of the American Hockey League (AHL), which is a league where players often develop their skills before playing in the NHL.
Playing in the NHL
Eric scored his very first goal in the NHL on March 2, 2000. It was a big moment for him, even though his team, the Boston Bruins, lost that game to Montreal.
After playing for the Boston Bruins, Eric also played for the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks. He even returned to play for the Boston Bruins again in 2005.
Hockey in Germany
In 2006, Eric decided to move to Germany to continue his hockey career. He joined a team called the Hannover Scorpions. After playing two seasons with them, he played for another German team, ERC Ingolstadt. These teams play in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), which is Germany's top professional ice hockey league. Eric played until 2009.
