Erik Valerayi Karapetyan (Armenian: Էրիկ Վալերայի Կարապետյան), born on June 5, 1988, is a famous singer and songwriter from Armenia. Many people know him simply as Erik. He became well-known when he represented Armenia in the 2011 New Wave international music contest for young performers. He finished in fifth place and also won the "Audience's Choice" award, which meant fans loved him the most! Later, in 2016, he became one of the judges on the Armenian version of the TV show X-Factor.

Early Life and Education
Erik Karapetyan was born in Tbilisi on June 5, 1988. He went to Dzabatdze N79 Georgian School in Tbilisi, where he learned to play the violin. After finishing school in 2005, he moved to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. There, he continued his music studies at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan until 2011.
Music Career Highlights
Erik's career has seen many exciting moments. In 2021, he won the very first season of Masquerade, which is the Armenian version of the popular TV show Masked Singer. On this show, famous people sing while wearing elaborate costumes, and judges try to guess who they are. Erik's win showed off his amazing singing talent!
