Erik Ross Palmer-Brown, born on April 24, 1997, is an American professional soccer player. He plays as a center-back, which is a defensive position, for the Greek club Panathinaikos in the Greek Super League.

Erik Palmer-Brown's Soccer Journey
Early Life and First Steps
Erik Palmer-Brown moved to Lee's Summit, Missouri when he was very young. He played high school soccer for one season at Lee's Summit High School in 2011. He also went to Archbishop O'Hara High School in Kansas City, Missouri. After playing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, he signed his first professional contract at just 16 years old. This made him the youngest player ever for Sporting Kansas City.
In January 2014, the Italian team Juventus reportedly offered $1 million for Erik. However, Sporting Kansas City turned down the offer. That same year, a UK website called TeamTalk listed Palmer-Brown as number 39 on their list of the top 50 "Wonderkids."
He played his first game for Sporting Kansas City on May 18, 2014. It was a regular season match against Chicago Fire. The game did not go as planned for him. He was sent off the field in the 64th minute after getting two yellow cards. This happened after he gave away a penalty early in the game, which his team lost 2–1.
Playing in Portugal: Porto
On February 1, 2016, Palmer-Brown was loaned to the Portuguese club Porto. He stayed there until December 31, 2016. He regularly played as a central defender for Porto B, which is Porto's reserve team. He helped them win the LigaPro title, which is a big achievement for a young player.
Moving to England: Manchester City
Palmer-Brown later signed a contract with Premier League team Manchester City. Right away, he was loaned to KV Kortrijk, a club in Belgium. He played there until the end of the 2017–18 season.
Loan to NAC Breda in the Netherlands
After playing for Kortrijk, Palmer-Brown was loaned to NAC Breda in the Eredivisie for the 2018–19 season. The Eredivisie is the top football league in the Netherlands.
Loan to Austria Wien
Next, he joined Austria Wien for the 2019–20 season. He did well there and extended his loan for another season, staying with Austria Wien for the 2020–21 season too.
Loan to Troyes in France
On August 31, 2021, Erik moved to France. He joined Ligue 1 club Troyes on a loan deal for the season. In February 2022, his move to Troyes became permanent. He signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2024.
Playing in Greece: Panathinaikos
On August 2, 2023, Erik Palmer-Brown signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos. This club is from Athens, Greece, and was the runner-up in the Greek Super League. He continues to play for them today.
Erik's International Career
Palmer-Brown has played for the United States at many different youth levels. These include the U-15, U-17, U-18, and U-20 teams. He played 6 games for the U-18 team and scored his first goal against the Czech Republic, helping his team win 1–0. In 2015, he was part of the team that played in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
As captain, Palmer-Brown led the United States to win the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He was given the Golden Ball Award by CONCACAF, recognizing him as the best player in the tournament. He played as a defensive midfielder during this time. Later, he played as a central defender for the United States at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He was even named to the "Best XI" team of the tournament by two different sports analysis groups.
On May 28, 2018, Palmer-Brown made his first appearance for the senior national team. This was in a game they won 3–0 against Bolivia.
Personal Life
Erik Palmer-Brown attended Archbishop O'Hara High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He was confirmed as a Catholic in 2015.
