Erin Boag (born 17 March 1975) is a professional ballroom dancer. She started dancing at just three years old. First, she learned ballet, then moved on to ballroom, Latin, and jazz.
Erin was born in Auckland, New Zealand. As a teenager, she moved to Australia to improve her dancing. In 1996, she moved to London. She became a professional dancer and is famous for appearing on the UK show Strictly Come Dancing. Her dance partner on the show was Anton Du Beke. Erin is also a special supporter of a theatre charity called The Music Hall Guild of Great Britain and America.

Erin's Professional Dance Career
Erin Boag's main professional dance partner is Anton du Beke. They first met in 1997. Together, they won the New Zealand Championships in both 1998 and 1999.
In 2002, they became professional dancers. They mostly competed in the United Kingdom. Their best competition win was the IDTA Classic in Brighton in November 2003. Erin and Anton appeared on the first 10 seasons of Strictly Come Dancing. Erin has not been a professional dancer on the show since its tenth season. However, Anton du Beke still appears on the show. In 2015, Erin made a short visit to the show. She gave advice to contestant Katie Derham, who was dancing with Anton that year.
Erin's Time on Strictly Come Dancing
From 2004 to 2012, Erin Boag was a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing. This popular BBC show pairs celebrities with professional dancers. They compete in ballroom and Latin dances. Erin took part in ten main seasons and six Christmas specials.
In the first season of the show, Series 1, Erin danced with former rugby player Martin Offiah. They finished in fourth place. For Series 2, Erin partnered with comedian Julian Clary. They made it to the finals, ending up in third place.
In Series 3, Erin danced with former Olympic athlete Colin Jackson. They reached the finals and were the runners-up. They lost to cricketer Darren Gough and his partner Lilia Kopylova. Erin and Colin also danced in the 2005 Christmas special, finishing fifth. In the 2006 Christmas special, they reunited and won the competition!
For Series 4, Erin's partner was former Danish footballer Peter Schmeichel. They were eliminated in week seven, finishing in seventh place. In Series 5, she danced with snooker player Willie Thorne. They left the competition early, in thirteenth place.
In Series 6, Erin partnered with rugby player Austin Healey. They reached the quarter-finals and finished in fourth place. Erin and Austin also danced together in the 2009 Christmas special. They finished in joint-fifth place.
For Series 7, Erin danced with actor Ricky Groves. They were eliminated in week ten, finishing sixth. In Series 8, her partner was footballer Peter Shilton. They were eliminated in week four, finishing twelfth. Erin also danced in the 2010 Christmas special with politician Vince Cable. They came in second place.
In Series 9, Erin partnered with comedian Rory Bremner. They were the third couple to leave, finishing twelfth. She also competed in the 2011 Christmas special with boxer Barry McGuigan. They finished in joint-second place.
Erin's final season was Series 10. She danced with TV presenter Richard Arnold. They were eliminated in week seven, finishing ninth. After this season, Erin was replaced by Janette Manrara for the next series.

Erin's Personal Life
Erin Boag met business consultant Peter O'Dowd through fellow dancer Camilla Dallerup. They got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2007. Erin and Peter were married in Italy on 17 June 2009.
On 24 April 2014, Erin gave birth to their son, Ewan Robert Geoffrey O'Dowd. He was born on his father's 50th birthday. Erin's professional dance partner, Anton du Beke, is Ewan's godfather.
Dance Tours and Other Work
In August 2017, Erin and Anton du Beke announced a three-month UK tour for 2018. The show was called From Broadway to Hollywood.
In September 2018, Erin shared that she would appear with Anton at Donahey's Dancing with The Stars Weekends. This tour included three weekend breaks in England and Wales in 2019. During these events, stars from Strictly Come Dancing taught and performed dances.
