History of Escambia Farms

Escambia Farms was a special kind of community. It was planned and built by the United States government. This happened in the 1930s. At that time, many people were struggling because of the Great Depression. This was a period when many people lost their jobs and money.

The government created Escambia Farms to help farmers during this difficult time. They built 81 homes in the area. These homes were placed on 115 different pieces of land. The goal was to give farmers a fresh start and a place to live and work.
