Eshon Burgundy's Early Life and Challenges
Eshon Burgundy, whose real name is Anton Eshon Hairston, was born in Abington, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his mother, Rochelle. They moved often when he was young. They eventually settled in a place called Passyunk Homes. Eshon became the oldest and most responsible sibling, looking after his two younger brothers, Seifuddin and Ameer, and his younger sister, Aleema.
When he was 15, Eshon faced a very dangerous situation that almost cost him his life. This experience made him focus on hip hop music. For five years, he was part of the underground hip hop scene in Philadelphia. Around 2000, he signed some record deals, but no music was released from them. In 2001, he became a Christian. He then started making Christian hip hop music in Philadelphia before moving to Jacksonville, Florida.
