Isidro Chávez Espinoza (born October 29, 1981), known as Espinoza Paz, is a famous Mexican singer and songwriter. He creates regional Mexican music. This style includes Sinaloan banda, norteño, mariachi, and even country music in Spanish. He has been nominated for a Latin Grammy award.

Early Life and Music

Espinoza Paz was born in a small town called La Angostura in Sinaloa, Mexico. This was on October 29, 1981. He started writing songs when he was only 11 years old. His first song was for a girl he liked. By the time he was 13, he had already written 20 songs!

Later, his father sent him money from the United States. Espinoza used this money to buy his first guitar. He taught himself how to play it.

How He Became Famous

Espinoza Paz got his big chance when he met El Coyote. El Coyote is a very popular singer of Sinaloan banda music. Espinoza showed him some of his songs. El Coyote liked them and recorded three of his songs. These songs were "Besitos En El Cuello" (Little Kisses On The Neck), "Prohibido" (Forbidden), and "Para Impresionarte" (To Impress You).

In December 2006, Espinoza met Martin Fabian. Martin was well-known in the music world. He saw how talented Espinoza was right away. They started working together on Espinoza's first album. It was called "Paz En Tu Corazón" (Peace In Your Heart). This album came out in 2007.

In 2008, he released another album called "Amigo Con Derechos" (Friend With Benefits). Soon after, he signed a contract with a big music company, Universal Latino. They released his first major album, "El Canta Autor del Pueblo" (The Village Singer-Songwriter), in 2008. This album had some of his older songs and four new ones. A song from this album, "El Proximo Viernes" (Next Friday), became very popular.

Espinoza Paz started writing songs for many other famous regional Mexican artists. Some of these artists include Jenni Rivera, Julión Álvarez, and Calibre 50.

In 2010, he released the album "Del Rancho Para El Mundo." It had a huge hit song called "Al Diablo Lo Nuestro." This album was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. It also sold enough copies to be certified Gold. In 2011, he released another Gold-selling album, "Canciones Que Duelen" (Songs That Hurt). This album quickly became number one on the Billboard Latin Albums Chart. It included the hit song "Para No Perderte."

In 2012, he released "Un Hombre Normal" (A Normal Man). This album was a collection of his biggest hits and some new songs. The main song from this album also reached number one on the Latin Charts.

More recently, Espinoza Paz has sung theme songs for Mexican TV shows called telenovelas. He sang "Mi Venganza" for La desalmada in 2021. In 2023, he sang "La Esperanza" for Tierra de esperanza.

Taking a Break

In 2012, Espinoza Paz surprised his fans by saying he would retire. This happened after a legal issue with his old manager. In early 2014, he changed music labels. His popularity started to go down for a while. Even though he released many single songs, he did not release a full studio album until 2016.
