The Estadio Municipal Verónica Boquete de San Lázaro is a cool stadium in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It used to be called the Estadio Multiusos de San Lázaro. This stadium is used for many different events, but mostly for exciting football matches. It's the home field for the SD Compostela football team. The stadium can hold 16,666 fans, and its grass field is about 105 by 68 metres (344 ft × 223 ft) big.

What Makes This Stadium Special?

This stadium is located in the eastern part of San Lázaro. It's a place where many different activities can happen. The stadium has an oval shape. It also has a unique terracotta-colored roof. This roof is higher on the west side. That's where special seating for directors and areas for the press are located.

The Athletics Track

Around the football field, there's a 400-meter track for athletics. This is not very common in Spanish stadiums. Most of the 16,666 seats are all on one level. They are also covered, which is great for fans on sunny or rainy days!

The very first event at the stadium was on June 24, 1993. It was a special football tournament with four teams. These teams were Deportivo de La Coruña, CD Tenerife, CA River Plate, and São Paulo FC. The first game was between Deportivo and River Plate. A famous player named Bebeto scored the first goal ever in the stadium!

On November 8, 2018, the stadium got a new name. It was renamed to honor Verónica Boquete. She is a Spanish football player. Many people think she is one of the best Spanish footballers of all time.
